In cooperation with a number of Financial partners these funds are created to invest in innovative growth companies that commercialize technology developed at or in cooperation with the Association UGent. The day to day management of the Baekeland funds is handled by department of TechTransfer of UGent.

  • Vinnof

    Vinnof, the Flemish fund for innovation, provides venture capital to innovative starters in Flanders. Vinnof offers them more chances by investing in the early stages of their existence. This financing, typically referred to as seed capital, allows entrepreneurs to reach the stage where they can apply to private capital providers. The investment of Vinnof is typically limited in duration and is focused mainly during start up and initial growth of the company.

    Through its daughter company FIDIMEC NV, Imec support the incorporation of spin-off companies. During the feasibility studies and the incubation period the starting company can rely on starting capital, infrastructure and personnel. 

    FIDIMEC Invests in incubation projects to lay the foundations for incubation projects to become viable companies. In this process FIDIMEC tries to attract a maximum of external sources of financing.
