Caliopa is developing optical transceivers for data- and telecom applications. Using Silicon Photonics these transceivers will have many advantages over traditional optical transceivers. First off they will be smaller and more integrated which will contribute to higher port density in optical network equipment. Also they will consume less power, which is key to reducing the operational cost of running optical networks.
